RTEK (“we”, “our”, or “us”) provides smart home systems that integrate with Amazon Alexa to enable voice control of devices within your home.
This Privacy Policy explains how data is handled when you use the RTEK Smart Home Alexa skill.
- System Architecture
RTEK uses a distributed architecture.
Your home system operates independently and is directly connected to your local installation. Commands from Alexa are sent securely to your home system.
RTEK does not maintain a centralized user account database for Alexa usage.
- Information We Process
To enable Alexa integration, the system processes:
- Connection details required to reach your home system (such as network address and port)
- Authentication credentials (username and password) provided during account linking
- Device metadata (such as device names and types)
- Device state information (such as on/off status, brightness levels, temperature)
We do NOT collect or store personal identification data such as email, name, or phone number for Alexa integration.
We do NOT store voice recordings. Voice interactions are handled by Amazon Alexa.
- How Data Is Used
The processed data is used exclusively to:
- Authenticate access to your home system
- Discover devices available in your installation
- Execute commands issued via Alexa
- Report device states back to Alexa
- Data Storage
RTEK does not maintain a centralized database of user profiles for Alexa integration.
Access credentials may be securely encoded within authentication tokens used during communication with your home system.
These tokens are used only to enable communication between Alexa and your installation.
- Data Sharing
Data is only exchanged between:
- Amazon Alexa services
- RTEK cloud components (for request routing)
- Your home system
No data is shared with third parties beyond what is strictly required for system operation.
- Security
All communication is secured using encryption protocols.
RTEK implements technical measures to protect authentication data and prevent unauthorized access.
- Data Retention
If you disable the Alexa skill, access tokens are no longer used and communication with your home system is stopped.
- Your Control
Because the system is directly linked to your home installation, you maintain full control over your devices and access credentials.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be published on this page.
